Perforation

Paper Perforation

Perforation is a line of tiny holes punched through the paper so that one part tears away cleanly without scissors or a cutter. It is the finish behind every tear-off ticket stub, coupon and carbonless invoice page. Colorbourne Graphics perforates printed sheets and books for businesses across Melbourne.

Where perforation is used

  • Function and event tickets with a tear-off stub
  • Coupons and vouchers on flyers and menus
  • Invoice books, quote books and receipt books, so the customer copy tears out and the record stays
  • Reply slips and forms that split in two

Perforation questions

Where on the page should the perforation go?

Anywhere a straight line can run across the sheet. Mark the tear line on your artwork, or tell us the measurement from the edge, and keep text and important graphics a few millimetres clear of it so nothing is lost when the piece is torn.

Can you perforate and print in one job?

Yes. Most perforation we do is on work we print ourselves, such as carbonless books, but we also perforate sheets printed elsewhere.
